Ensemble Odyssee

Founded in 2010, Ensemble Odyssee seeks to discover new approaches to the interpretation of early music, combining strong interest in historical performance practice and a penchant for improvisation and musical experimentat. Since 2013 the core members have been by Anna Stegmann (recorder), Eva Saladin (violin), Georg Fritz (recorder, oboe), and Andrea Friggi (harpsichord), but the ensemble appears in diverse line-ups and repertoire. In 2011, Ensemble Odyssee took the third prize at the prestigious International Van Wassenaer Concours.

Ensemble Odyssee

Ensemble Odyssee performs regularly at prestigious venues and events in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Italy, and Austria, including for example the Summerwinds Münsterland festival, Grachtenfestival Amsterdam, Kunsthalle Lingen, Noorderkerk Amsterdam, Minimekerk Brussels, and Muziekgebouw aan ‘tIJ Amsterdam.

In 2011, Ensemble Odyssee recorded their debut CD with music by Neapolitan composers such as Pietro Marchitelli and Antonio Farina. In 2016, Glossa released the ensemble’s fourth CD, in collaboration with countertenor Filippo Mineccia, and the same year saw the release on Pan Classics of Ensemble Odyssee’s first chamber music CD, featuring the concerti for six flutes and two recorders by the English composer William Babell.
