CV Fahmi Alqhai

Fahmi Alqhai se narodil v roce 1976 ve španělské Seville. Po otci Syřan a po matce Palestinec strávil Alqhai prvních 11 let v Sýrii a již tehdy, v útlém mládí, se začal věnovat hudbě. Později jako do té doby samouk vstoupil na Konzervatoř Manuela Castilla v Seville, do gambové třídy Ventura Rica. Dále pokračoval ve svých studiích na Schole Cantorum Basiliensis u Paola Pandolfa a na Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana u Vittoria Ghielmiho. Zároveň s tím také vystudoval stomatologii na univerzitě v Seville. Fahmi se postupně stal členem proslulých národních či mezinárodních ansámblů, jak jsou např. Hesperion XXI, Il Suonar Parlante, Orphenica Lyra, s nimiž procestoval Evropu, Japonsko, USA a Latinskou Ameriku. Jako sólista spolupracoval již s Ensemble Vocal de Lausanne, Sinfónica de Galicia nebo Orquesta Barroca de Sevilla. Kromě staré hudby se Alqhai věnuje flamencu, vystupoval např. na Flamencovém bienále v Seville, a občas vstupuje také do vod současné kompozice a jazzu.

Fahmi Alqhai was born in Seville, Spain, in 1976. As his father is Syrian and his mother Palestinian he spent the first 11 years of his life in Syria where he started to study music at a very young age. Later he studied in Spain as a self-taght person until he entered the Conservatorio Manuel Castillo in Seville to study Viola da Gamba with Ventura Rico. He continued his education in the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Paolo Pandolfo and in the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana with Vittorio Ghielmi. During his musical studies he made his degree in Dentistry in the University of Seville. He is required by the most important early music groups both national and international. His career has led him to collaborate with: Hesperion XXI, Il Suonar Parlante, Orphenica Lyra as a founding member, and many others, with which he regularly plays throughout Europe, Japan, USA and Latin America. As a soloist he has played with orchestras such as Ensemble Vocal de Lausanne, Sinfónica de Galicia or Orquesta Barroca de Sevilla. In addition to early music, Fahmi Alqhai has worked as a soloist in performances of flamenco in the Bienal of Flamenco of Seville, and also makes forays into the fields of contemporary music and jazz.
