OPENING OF THE FESTIVAL WITH DIONYSOS NOW!

A seasoned soloist and member of many ensembles specializing in vocal polyphony, Tore Tom Denys was born in the same region where Adrian Willaert saw the light of day nearly 500 years earlier. He knew how excellent Willaert’s compositions are and how rarely they are presented to a musical audience. And so, during the first Covid lockdown, he began to study Willaert's scores in detail...

Consistent with Churchill's statement "Never let a good crisis go to waste", the ensemble Dionysos Now! was born, and it will open the 23rd edition of the festival. It will feature, among other things, the homophonic four-part madrigal A quand'haveva. Listen to its performance by Dionysos Now!

A quand’a quand’haveva una vicina
Ch’era a vedere la stella Diana.
Che quando se levava la matina
Phebo per scorno se ne ritornava.
