Romana Agnel choreography, artistic director


The founder of the dance company Cracovia Danza, Romana Agnel is the artistic director of the ensemble, but also an active dancer, choreographer, dance coach and art historian.


She is a graduate of the Ballet School in Cracow and she studied the history of art at the Sorbonne in Paris. In France, she explored a whole range of national dances and became a specialist in historical dance.


She also dedicates herself to Indian classical dance Bharatanatyam and studied this discipline under the guidance of the legendary guru Shrimati M. K. Saroja in Madras.


Besides choreography for more than twenty projects of Cracovia Danza, Romana Agnel has created choreographies for a number of Polish and international operatic and ballet productions. She collaborates with eminent artists and scholars from various disciplines.


She is a lecturer and published author on the theme of dance history and has received a great number of awards, among them the Legion of Honor, the highest French honor of merit awarded by the French government.
