Clavis ad cor meum

Sonatas by J. Benda and C. Ph. E. Bach

Miklós Spányi – clavichord (Hungary)

Saturday 24 July 2010, 8 pm
Břevnov Monastery, Teresian Hall, Markétská 1, Prague 6

The second concert in the 2010 series featured three protagonists: the excellent Hungarian keyboard player Miklós Spányi, his clavichord, and the acoustical reverberation afforded by the Teresian Hall! Yet one might venture to claim that there were in fact six protagonists, not three – for the evening's programme consisted in sonatas by three eighteenth-century personages: Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, Jiří Benda and Friedrich Wilhelm Rust. All three were fond of the tender tones of the clavichord, and so we too had the opportunity of allowing the instrument to become „the key to our hearts“.
