Annotation

The harpsichord literally conquered the Baroque world as a quintessential part of musical productions. Its gentle and chiming sound is destined to imitate the voices of nature! The programme of Sunday’s concert in the Theresian Hall of the Břevnov Monastery will be repleted with sounds from the world of animals and the elements. Its protagonists will be two harpsichord masters – Aapo Häkkinen and Marcos Magalhães.

The interpretative skills of these two virtuosos will focus on selected soundscapes popular among 17th and 18th century composers throughout Europe. Among them we will find, for example, the singing of the nightingale, warbler or cuckoo, country dances and games, as well as the powerful quartet of earth, water, fire and air.
